# Currency format

The **Currency Format** settings allow you to control how prices appear throughout your store, helping ensure clarity for customers—especially in international contexts.

#### Show Currency Codes

**Field type:** Checkbox\
**Label:** *Show currency codes*

When enabled, prices will include the 3-letter currency code (e.g., `USD`, `EUR`) alongside the currency symbol:

* **Example:** `$1.00 USD` instead of just `$1.00`

This applies to:

* Product prices
* Cart and checkout previews
* Price comparisons and sale badges

> **Note:** Currency codes are **always shown** in the cart and checkout regardless of this setting, to ensure clarity during purchase.

#### How to Enable

1. Go to **Online Store → Themes** in your Shopify admin.
2. Click **Customize** next to the Elemento theme.
3. Navigate to **Theme Settings → Currency Format**.
4. Check the **Show currency codes** option.
5. Click **Save**.
